The line for a seat at Senor Machetes on Capitol Square was out the door and down the block Friday night. It’s a testament to the good food and welcoming atmosphere crafted by the restaurant’s owners – husband Noel Quintana and wife Ofelia Anchondo.

Quintana and Anchondo have long been a beloved part of their community – or so say Jane Richard and Jonathan Cooper, two neighbors who organized a GoFundMe for the couple after Quintana was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement earlier this month.

The organizers hosted an in-person fundraiser for the GoFundMe Friday, in a small loft above the restaurant. WORT reporter Fiona Hatch was there.
