Macquarie Sports Radio's Bill Woods and Brigitte Duclos are joined by your calls to help piece together Serena's Williams dramatic defeat by Naomi Osaka 6-2 6-4.
20 year old Osaka became the first Japanese player to win a grand slam title and had a commanding stance on the game when she took the first set 6-2.
In the second set things turned for Williams as she was handed 3 code violations which started with a code violation for "coaching" from coach Patrick Mourtoglou in the first game of the second set.
Serena Williams lashed out at umpire Carlos Ramos stating, "I don't cheat to win, I'd rather lose" after her first violation which only carried a warning.
A second violation came after Williams double faulted and threw and broke her racquet seeing her being penalized a point.
A third violation came after Williams was called for verbal abuse calling umpire Ramos, "a thief."
Things only got worse when after the match Mouratoglou admitted on ESPN that he was coaching and that every coach coaches during games.
Talking with Macquarie Sports Radio's Bill Woods and Brigitte Duclos Craig Gabriel stated Mouratoglou's comments were "garbage... to say something like that is ridiculous, no coaching, no on-court coaching, sideline coaching is legally allowed at the majors."
