Before you pay for another certification, make sure you know exactly what problem you expect it to solve.
A lot of professionals pursue certifications because they want to earn more money, become more competitive, change industries, qualify for a promotion, or finally feel like they are making progress in their careers.
But every certification does not lead to every outcome.
Some certifications are required by employers. Some are only preferred. Some may help you enter a specific occupation, while others may simply add more letters behind your name without changing the opportunities available to you.
This is why your decision cannot be based solely on what someone on social media recommends, especially when some creators have financial partnerships with the programs they promote.
Look at the actual job postings for the work you want.
Are employers consistently requiring the certification, or did it appear in one posting out of 100?
What opportunities will it realistically create?
How much time, money, energy, and capacity will it require?
What other opportunities could you pursue with those same resources?
A certification is an investment, and every investment should have a reasonable expected return.
Before you enroll, slow down and evaluate the decision from a career perspective, not only from a place of frustration, fear, pressure, or the desire to feel like you are doing something.
The goal is not to collect credentials.
The goal is to make well-informed career decisions that move you closer to the work and life you actually want.
