  • Special Minisode: Jeff Nelson and The Spell!
We sat down with Jeff Nelson of Shout! Factory to discuss their upcoming Blu-Ray release of the classic 1977 telefilm The Spell! This is a non-spoilery behind the scenes look of what went into making the release, as well as a spirited conversation about why TV movies are important, and of course, why we all love The Spell. Enjoy!
As many of you know, I supplied the commentary track for this upcoming release, and Shout has also added an intriguing interview with The Spell's screenwriter, Brian Taggert! You can pre-order The Spell through Shout's website, and you will receive it before its September 5th street date. Go buy it!

  • Are You Ready for the Summer? Episode 23 is Here!
We are finally back with our summer episode, and it only took half of the summer to record it, edit it and get it online. To be fair, we had a lot of technical issues with this, so please be patient with the sound.
But Dan and I did have a blast discussing High School USA (1983) and Poison Ivy (1985). Lots of love given to Michael J. Fox, Nancy McKeon, Crispin Glover, Tony Dow, and some guy named Dirty Curt. We hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed recording it!
For the next episode we are taking a road trip to Crowhaven Farm (1970), and then stopping by Bay Cove (1987), where we'll take on all things occult! Remember you can always let us know what you think about those films, or any telefilm you want to talk about by contacting us. See you soon!

  • Episode 22: Small Screen Proto Slashers!
We're back and excited about our discussion about Five Desperate Women (1971) and She's Dressed to Kill (1979). What makes a proto-slasher? We're not sure we know, and that made the talk really fun for us. Hope you enjoy! And, We'll be diving into summer in a few weeks and discussing High School USA (1983), and Poison Ivy (1985). Viva la Michael J. Fox! You know the drill, visit us if you'd like to discuss these two films or any other TV movies you are interested in! We're at https://tvmayhempodcast.wordpress.com/! We've also added some links to Patreons and podcasts from our listeners and friends. Come by the site and say hello!

  • Tori Spelling To The Rescue!
Wow, I can't believe i got this mammoth episode edited and ready for listening (well, as ready as we usually are. Expect the normal volume issues and there's a few pops and clicks as well). The gang discuss Death of a Cheerleader (1994) and Co-ed Call Girl (1996) in this Tori Twofer, and we feel our lives are better for it! We loved recording this and we all hope you enjoy listening.
The one regret I have though is not mentioning that Dan's new book is out and ready to be bought. Pop on over to Amazon and grab a copy of his Action Movies on the Cheap: 284 Low Budget High Impact Pictures! Go now!
We're taking April off so I can go to London and talk TV horror movies at the Miskatonic Institute of Horror Studies on May 20th at the Horse Hospital. Stop by if you are in the area and say hi! We'll be selling copies of my book, Are You in the House Alone? A TV Movie Compendium: 1964-1999.
Our next episode will be a slasher-friendly double bill with Five Desperate Women (1971) and She's Dressed to Kill (1979). Check us out on tvmayhempodcast.wordpress.com if you'd like to leave feedback!

  • Episode 19! Born Innocent and Women in Chains!
We're back and we're going behind bars! Episode 19 takes us into the sometimes seedy world of small screen women in prison flicks, as we sit down for a discussion on the notorious Born Innocent (1974) and the far more campy Women in Chains (1972). Enjoy!

  • It’s the Christmas TV Movie Game Show!
Welcome to our last podcast for 2016! We got together with Christmas TV expert Joanna Wilson to play a few games of Create A Synopsis For That Generic Holiday TV Movie Title, which doesn't exactly roll off the tongue but is a lot of fun to play! There's clips, chatter, and lots of great holiday movie recommendations (real and imagined), as well as a look at Joanna's new book: Triple Dog Dare: Watching and Surviving the 24 Hour Marathon of a Christmas Story, which you can purchase on Amazon or buy autographed from 1701 Press!
And as per usual, please ignore the popping and irregular sound. I'll figure this thing out eventually.
    Happy Holidays! And enjoy!

  • Halloween Minisode! It’s Disco-licious!
We're just in time for a spooktacular look at two beloved Halloween specials. The Halloween that Almost Wasn't (1979) has a disco-battle with 1976's The Paul Lynde Halloween Special (not really), and we duke it out ourselves with some serious Skype issues, including a sound delay which makes the whole recording just a touch bit awkward. But our love of the season is in check, and so is the fake Paul Lynde chest hair, so give us a whirl, disco baby!

  • Episode 15 is here! We love Patty Duke!
Our newest episode is online, it's all about the great Patty Duke. The gang takes a look at Amityville: The Evil Escapes (1989) and Look What Happened to Rosemary's Baby (1976)! Enjoy!
Our next episode will be a Halloween Spooktacular, as we look back on Paul Lynde's Halloween Special (1976), and The Halloween That Almost Wasn't (1979). Plus, we anticipate a return of Five Minutes with Nate, and we promise more treats than tricks. Please contact us if you'd like to discuss any small screen scares you love.
