Who or what is the New Testament referring to when it uses the term "antichrist"? In this Bible study lesson, we look at several passages of Scripture to help us understand that even now antichrists are in the world, and that probably there will be an ultimate Antichrist who comes at the end, just before our Lord Jesus returns.

In this last Kingdom parable in Mark's Gospel, Jesus tells us that the Kingdom of God has small beginnings, but will eventually have full and absolute dominion over all the earth. This teaching challenges our sensibilities, but also offers great comfort to those discouraged by the small beginning of holiness in their own lives.

Lots of American Christians hear "tribulation" and picture a seven year period on earth after the secret rapture. But in our passage today, we learn that tribulation is simple the common experience of all Christians in this age, previewing a more intense "great tribulation" that is to come. But Jesus tells us, "In this world you will have tribulation, but take heart; I have overcome the world" (John 16:33).

So how does the church grow? Jesus answers that question for us in the parable of the growing seed. It teaches us that Christ grows his kingdom through his powerful Word, which produces fruit gradually until God says it’s complete. If this is true, then this parable is a powerful indictment against the ways some Christians have talked growing churches. But it is also a wonderful guide.

In this Bible lesson in our study of the End Times, we look at the "thousand years" of Revelation 20:1–10 and discover that we are in this "millennium" now: Christ is seated on the throne, Satan is bound, and departed Christians are reigning with Christ.

Jesus continues teaching in parables, this time showing us how to grow in Christian maturity. This passage reminds us that Christ is the chief revealer of the Word of God to us, and that the more we give ourselves to that Word, the more Christ will give us the understanding that we need.

In 2nd lesson on Eschatology (basically, the study of the End Times), we look at two of the most important passages on this topic and conclude that the doctrine of the rapture is not there.

In this first week of our Bible Study series on the End Times, or "eschatology", we learn some basic principles for reading prophetic sections of the Bible. In future weeks, we'll apply these principles to the topics of the tribulation, the millennium, and others.
