Madison’s civil rights director looks to the future

Listen Later

Norman Davis, director of Madison’s Department of Civil Rights, was cleared this fall of claims that he discriminated against disabled and female employees.
The city paid an outside law firm to investigate his conduct, after nearly a dozen employees alleged that Davis had subjected them to unfair treatment. Investigators concluded that, while Davis’ management style created a problematic workplace culture, he hadn’t violated his employment contract or city policies.
In the aftermath, Director Davis joined our News Producer Faye Parks to share his take on the investigation – and his plans for the future of Madison’s Civil Rights Department.
