The city of Madison will have to thread the needle in its next operating budget, because the cost to continue current services outpaces the city’s projected revenue and spending constraints imposed by the state.

City finance staff joined the Common Council Tuesday evening to bring alders up to speed on Madison’s 2027 budget outlook.
