Magic of Cozies

In preparation for Halloween this week, I've compiled this remix episode of how each author defined magic. In order of appearance: Beth Dolgner, Naomi Kuttner, Eryn Scott, Iris Beaglehole, Natalie Summers, Trixie Silvertale, Abbie L. Martin, and Clare Lockhart.

Clare Lockhart grew up on Nancy Drew and paranormal stories from a dad who believed—and convinced her early on—that there's more to this world than meets the eye. She writes light-hearted, small-town paranormal cozy mysteries about everyday women who discover just how brave they are when life gets complicated. Her heroines navigate big midlife changes, newly awakened magical abilities, a knack for solving murders they never asked to get involved in, and friendships that carry them through it all.

Abbie has dreamt of becoming an author since she was a child, but finally decided to bite the bullet and published her first book in 2023. Since then she has continued The Lilly Pilly Creek Ghost Mysteries series — and has also launched her second series, Trixie Travers Time Travel Mysteries: think Golden Girls meets Back to the Future, with a fun, witty twist. Two series, twice the fun!

USA TODAY Bestselling author Trixie Silvertale grew up reading an endless supply of Lilian Jackson Braun, Hardy Boys, and Nancy Drew novels. She loves the amateur sleuths in cozy mysteries and obsesses about all things paranormal. Those two passions unite in her many paranormal cozy series, and she's thrilled to write them and share them with you.

Natalie Summers writes paranormal cozy mysteries full of witty heroines, quirky side characters, and small towns with lots of drama. She can usually be found at home in her pyjamas, plotting (entirely fictional) magical murders while debating with her British husband over whether coffee or tea is the superior writing fuel. (It’s coffee. He’s wrong.) For stress relief, Natalie enjoys watching true crime, reading cozy mysteries, and crocheting things that are technically blankets.
