We discuss bilingualism, the social and cultural nature of language, the connection between language and thought, and the difference between written and spoken language with Dr. Debra Titone, director of the McGill Language and Multilingualism Lab. There's also a hidden Easter egg if you make it all the way to the end!

Here is the first chapter of Metaphors We Live By book, a book that explores how the language we use can shape our thoughts, by Lakoff & Johnson.

This is the study that details the patient response to the different metaphors used by doctors - the conditions were framing cancer as a battle or as a journey.

BONUS reading: Sex and Death in the Rational World of Defense Intellectuals, by Carol Cohn, explores how the language used by nuclear analysts distances them from the effects of their catastrophic work.

Taken together, these and other studies make me think deeply about how the language we use manifests itself in thoughts and actions.

Eve's first adventure, where she is tasked with sorting a library of books in different languages. Eve makes a new friend, Quest, and they work together to defeat an intimidating monster.
