n our latest podcast, we sit down and talk about all aspects of the community and whether it truly is a toxic environment or is the small majority with the loudest (annoying) voices distorting the hobby. Sometimes our social media feeds are rampant with so much negativity that we forget about why we all joined the hobby of comic collecting and instead focus on the he said - she said or look at what these people are doing. Simultaneously, the hobby for some are businesses for others and the lines of collecting and being a job are sometimes distorted and overlooked by the passion of filling up our personal collection's at the cheapest price possible. Hard to believe, but we've hit the end of our comics through the decades run. Our final journey takes us through to our current present. It's an interesting time for comic books as they were able to survive the collapse at the end of the 90s thanks to the success of superhero films. The introduction of the MCU and multiple tv shows focusing on comic book culture began the injection of comic books into pop culture.Towards the end of the 2010s, comic books began to be generally viewed as investment pieces and the collector market began to heat up. Funny enough, the current comic market is beginning to look a lot like the 90s, will people make the same mistakes again? Comic Conventions are back in full swing and so are controversies. Listen in as we recount firsthand what we witnessed at NYCC surrounding Peach Momoko's Artist Alley table and the subsequent craziness that ensued. No good deed goes unpunished and unfortunately an event that was meant to give back to the fans turned into a greedy cash grab of having books signed for free and then later sold at a premium, during the same convention. We appreciate what Peach Momoko was attempting to do to provide a free service to the fans, but sadly the dark side of the community showed their true colors.
