There was tension at the very first Christmas.  Herod was troubled upon hearing news of the birth of a king - the wise men, upon an encounter with Jesus were then led on a different path.  It can be the same for us after an encounter with Jesus, our path can take a different direction.

The prophet Isaiah proclaimed 'I see the Lord, high and lifted up'.  This is a powerful perspective from Isaiah.  The question in this episode is, how do you see the Lord?  Does it change depending on your circumstances, does it change when we feel close to the Lord and when things are not going too well?  In this episode, Danny Miller looks at various people in scripture and how they saw the Lord.  May this episode of the Magnificent Obsession devotional bless and encourage you in your faith with Jesus.

Going back to Luke 24, we are reminded of the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, talking with one another, and reminding each other of 'the good old days'.  What they didn't see while walking on that dusty road was that incredible events were taking place which were shaping their future.  In these days of Covid-19, self distancing and lockdowns, it is easy to look back and remember those 'good old days' of packed church services, fellowship and worship together - and yet let us be aware of the times we are in, for God is preparing an incredible future, He is in control and the best is yet to be!

In these current times we are living in, it it may be communion without the 'union' of other people.  This episode focuses on one of our key acts of worship - communion.  Whether we partake in a church building, or in our home.  This episode of the Magnificent Obsession podcast, takes time to look at the value of communion and serves as a reminder that whatever season or challenges ahead of us, we can take courage and confidence as communion reminds us to look back and remember, the power of the Cross and Resurrection.  

It's a common term to refer to the prayer that Jesus taught us in the gospels as 'The Lord's Prayer'.  The interesting thing about this amazing teaching, is that the prayer was intended for us as believers to pray.  Therefore it is more accurate to refer to this prayer as 'Our Prayer'.
