Last week I shared the amazing book, The Black Madonna, Mysterious Soul Companion by Stephanie Georgieff. This week we dive deeper as I share this special interview with the author herself and hear about her own miraculous journey with the Black Madonna!

Let me tell you a bit about her:  Stephanie Georgieff is a podcaster, author and speaker whose works surround the Divine Feminine through an Anthroposophical lens. She has led workshops and participated in Anthroposophical and Christian Community Conferences in North America, Europe, the United Kingdom and Southern Africa. Author of several books on The Black Madonna and The Virgin of Guadalupe, Georgieff now resides in Southwestern Bulgaria where she is serving with The International Fellowship of Saint John. She works with Roma in the region and manages the foundation guest house which hosts visiting mission teams from North America, the United Kingdom and Europe. Georgieff can be heard through her weekly podcast The Black Madonna Speaks available wherever one accesses their programs.

In this episode, she shares her own journey of discovering the Black Madonna and the miraculous things she has learned and witnessed over the years. We also discuss the connection with Mary Magdalene, especially all through the Camino de Santiago in Spain.

Key Learnings:

1. The Black Madonnas pre-date Christianity. They are based on the original mother image from Africa, the Great Cosmic Mother, the darkness from which all life emerges.

2. The two patron saints of the Camino de Santiago in Spain are St. James the greater and St. Mary Magdalene. James represents the inner path, Mary Magdalene represents the outer path, the sensual path, the path of nature.

3. The Black Madonnas want to be seen. Go on pilgrimage to visit them, and see them with your own eyes. This is the path of the Black Madonna.

Who is the Black Madonna? Or more appropriately… WHAT is the Black Madonna?

Throughout Europe there are several Black Madonnas, images and icons of a Divine Mother with Dark Skin. These images have mysterious origins and even more mysterious stories associated with them, such as healings, miracles and other inexplicable events.

In this episode, I share a special book about the Black Madonna by author Stephanie Georgieff, which beautifully combines historical research, mysticism and her own personal journey with the Black Madonna. In my own experience, the Black Madonna makes Herself known when you need Her most, especially during times of great change.

Are you wondering about the energy of April? And is there a message about this month for YOU?

This is a time of great change and upheaval, and you may be wondering how to respond. When I am unsure of how to respond, I love to pick a card from one of my favorite oracle card decks for insight. So that’s exactly what I did!

In this episode, I pull a card for YOU from one of my favorite decks and share the theme and message I see for the month of April. I also share a story about Mary Magdalene that I hope resonates with you too!

Key Learnings:

1. We are in a time of great change. The card I picked for the month is Valiant Courage – Take Action with Passion! This is a time to move forward and do what you can do, rather than feeling overwhelmed by what you can’t do.

2. It took great courage for Mary Magdalene to accompany Jesus through his crucifixion, and to show up on Sunday morning. But she kept asking herself what she could do, she kept moving forward. And that is what we are asked to do.

3. Where have you been waiting or holding yourself back? Now is the time to act, to do what you can with what you have. That is the theme for April.

1. Question one: does Mother Mary have a specific request that She answers, similar to how St. Anthony helps people find lost things? Answer: Mother Mary has so many forms that you can ask Her anything, but Her favorite thing to help us with is manifesting our purpose and our deepest heart’s desires.

2. Question two: can you give me feedback about why judging others comes up strongly for me when I feel disrespected or infringed upon? Answer: That judgement comes up as a way to protect you when you don’t feel safe. See it as a messenger, rather than something to be avoided. Don’t judge the judgement!

3. Question three: how do I get back to spiritual practice after having stopped for a while? Answer: Decide which practice you want to begin again, and how often you want to do it. Take a look at why you stopped, and why you want to begin again. Then take small steps to begin again. Prioritizing yourself, and what matters most to you, is the key.

Have you been wondering if you need to do anything different to manifest during these uncertain times?

You are not alone, as I have been asked this question many times lately! And for good reason, because the outer world is reflecting a LOT of uncertainty. But lucky for us, there are some things of which we can always be certain!

In this episode, I share the truth about ‘uncertain times’ and the ‘secret’ to manifesting no matter what your circumstances! I will also share a powerful Bible story to help you keep you walking on ‘solid ground’ – despite appearances!

Key Learnings:

1. One of the most important things to remember with manifestation is that the outer world is a reflection, an effect. YOU are always the cause, which means the key is to keep your focus on the cause, which is your goals, thoughts and feelings, and not on the situation.

2. ALL times are uncertain times, we just fool ourselves into believing we are in control. None of us knows if we will wake up tomorrow, or even what will happen in the next moment. Instead of being afraid, let’s embrace this truth to propel us forward!

3. When Peter was in the boat with the other disciples and Jesus was on the shore, they were so afraid that they didn’t even recognize him! Jesus comes to them by walking on the water, which makes them more afraid. But Peter recognizes him and gets out of the boat and begins to walk on water too, until he looks down. Looking down means looking at your circumstances! Keep your eyes on God, on your goal, and not on your circumstances!

1. The energy of March 2025 is a continuation of the end of February, where we experienced Shivaratri, the night of Shiva, the beginning of Ramadan and the New Moon in Pisces. What do all these have in common? Compassion.

2. We also have the energy of Lent beginning in March, along with Ramadan, the focus is on compassion again. With Venus and Mercury going retrograde, we have the opportunity to reflect on our beliefs and our values. Are we in alignment?

3. The eclipses in March, on the 14th and the 29th, amplify ALL the energies of this month, including the feast of the Annunciation. Will you say YES to your heart this year?

The season of Lent is a time of preparation, of deepening our relationship with the Divine and preparing to receive a miracle!

Rather than focusing on sacrificing something you enjoy (giving up something for Lent), I recommend doing MORE of what you truly yearn for…something that will give you more love, peace, and connection.

That’s why I am recommending my book, Meditation is Friendship with God! This book will teach you the nuts and bolts of meditation, but it will also take you beyond meditation techniques, to developing an intimate relationship with the Divine.

Key Learnings:

1. If you were raised with a concept of God that made you feel anxious, afraid, judged or anything negative, know that you can change that right now. Nothing negative is of God, that is the ego projecting itself onto the Divine.

2. If you had a challenging relationship with your parents, it might be difficult to relate to God as Divine Mother or Father. But most of us have had a friend, or can at least imagine a friend, who cares for us and treats us as equals.

3. Meditation is a relationship. It is a process of creating more and more intimacy with your own Self. As we learn to deeply relax, we become aware of the Divine Presence that is always present. We learn to become God’s friend.

Meditation is something I love… AND something I struggled with… for years!!

I lived in a spiritual community where I was required to meditate for three hours a day, so I knew ‘what to do’ - but I had a hard time FEELING much of anything… until Mother Mary helped me have a huge shift! In this episode, I share my personal struggle with meditation, and what Mother Mary taught me that made it so that I FEEL the Divine Presence when I meditate…and how you can too! Key Learnings:

1. There is a plethora of information about meditation available on the internet. There are even more guided meditations, but TRUE meditation is not passive. The four most important components of meditation are relaxing your body, calming your mind, turning your attention inward and focusing your attention. These are the four things you will learn in any ashram.

2. If I was doing all of those things, what was I missing? After my ‘visitation’ from Mother Mary, She began teaching me how to FEEL the presence of the Divine. THAT changed everything!

3. Meditation is a relationship. You are becoming friends with your deepest self. Approach meditation as you would any other friendship and watch the miracles happen.

Have you been feeling unsettled, worried or troubled the past few weeks?

As a highly sensitive soul, living a world that feels increasingly unsettled, it is more important than ever that you take excellent care of yourself!

One of the best forms of self-care is taking care of your MIND. Keeping your mind calm and focused on spiritual truths is key!

I have been re-reading the writings of Paramahansa Yogananda to help me find peace during these times. What does he recommend? Meditation.

In this episode, I share a passage from Yogananda’s book, To Be Victorious in Life, to help you remember how to respond to the external world, AND how not to. I also share some simple tips you can start doing today to help you feel better.

Key Learnings:

1. Highly sensitive souls need to take better care of themselves during turbulent times like these. The most important thing to do is develop a meditation practice that fosters a sense of inner peace and calmness.

2. Yogananda’s teachings were written and taught during the first half of the 20th century, during the Great Depression and World War 2. Talk about an unsettling time! That is why his teachings are SO helpful for the times we are experiencing now. If his students could meditate in a bomb shelter in England during the Blitz, you KNOW they are powerful teachings!

3. Some simple things you can do to take care of yourself: a) Limit your intake of sensationalized news b) increase your time out in nature c) increase time reading and studying spiritual truths d) take inspired action from a place of peace and calmness
