Today on the Magnifying Glass, I talk to Rawalpindi based sufi rock band Dhool. Dhool was formed in 2016 and consists of members Daniyal Aslam on vocals, Mobeen Inam on drums, Saad Qureshi on bass, Sajid Ali on dholak, Tahawar Ali and Usama Nasir on guitars. Their release in 2020 of EP Visaal-E-Yaar Qalandar put them on the map and marked their presence in the genre. Now let’s talk to Daniyal, Mobeen and Tahawar and put them under the magnifying glass!

Karakoram, a Pakistani based rock band took the Pakistani music scene by storm in October 2018 with their hard rock tune Toofan. Their new album Ailan-e-Jang is coming out in January. But what you may not know is that the Karakoram members have previously been on Nescafe Basement and have played session music for the likes of Call, Fawad Khan, Meesha Shafi amongst others. On the final part, we talk about the album artwork, the tracks and CD distribution, as well as the current music scene in Pakistan and the Karakoram live show in general.
