Psychiatrist Dr Diana Kopua discusses a Māori focused approach to mental wellbeing by drawing on the stories, narratives and healing practices of te ao Māori or the Māori world. The former nurse was inspired by Māori health pioneers such as Dr Mason Durie who created the Tapawha (TUPPA-FAR), model that look at the four cornerstones of overall health, the mental, spiritual, physical and social aspects. Kehu Butler also features on the show where he says mental wellbeing begins in the home, that's coming up in this week's edition of Te Ahi Kaa.
