Gingerbread
3 c flour
3/4 c butter, softened
1/2 c molasses
Cream together butter and sugar until soft and fluffy. Add molasses and mix well. Add egg, mix well.
Sift your dry ingredients together separately, then slowly add to your wet mixture. Mix until fully combined.
Split dough into 2 equal portions. Wrap each portion in saran wrap and refrigerate at least 2 hrs.
Unwrap and place dough on a floured surface. Sprinkle top of dough in flour as well, then gently roll out to about 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into whatever shapes you like.
Bake at 350°F for 12-15 minutes until edges are done and center is close. Cookies will continue to bake on the hot sheet for up to 15 minutes once out of the oven. Let cool and decorate however you like! Enjoy.
