Main Corpse Horror d'Oeuvres | Ep. 29 - Fourth of July Special | Hot Mustard and Ketchup Doritos, Mtn Dew Summer Freeze Zero & Sergeant Stubby

Listen Later

In this episode, the Main Creeps try two different Dorito flavors: Hot Mustard Doritos, and Ketchup Doritos, as they wash it down with a new flavor of Mountain Dew Zero Sugar Summer Freeze, reminiscent of a summer red white and blue popsicle.

Kelsey gives a tale (tail?) of the life and adventures of Sergeant Stubby the military dog for our Fourth of July Special. Stubby was a beloved dog around training camp and found his way smuggled overseas and right to the front line, becoming a member of the 102nd infantry during World War I. Used primarily as a morale boost for the soldiers, he also woke them up if enemies were near, or alerted them to gas attacks. Ending up in several infamous battles he became injured as well as heavily decorated. Back in the US he became the mascot for the American Legion as well as the Georgetown football team. He was given "free bones for life and a place to stay" by the YMCA. At his death, his obituary in the New York Times was longer than many well known humans of the day. His remains are at the Smithsonian to this day.

The Creeps also talk about summer barbecues, becoming shills for soda, childhood movies losing luster, running a tight ship, the Vegas Golden Knights before they won their Stanley Cup, and Matt forgets his own name.
