In this week's text Jesus crosses back over the sea, where he heals a paralytic.

Bren makes the point that the greatest gift Jesus gives in the text is not the gift of healing but instead the gift of forgiveness. If we truly believe that God is all we need, the greatest gift God can give us is to make us right before himself.

And that forces us to look inward. Do we keep asking more and more from God? Is forgiveness enough? How do we respond to that forgiveness, and do we extend it to others?

Bren teaches on a text this week that may not seem applicable to your day-to-day life: Jesus frees some demon possessed men and throws the demons into a herd of pigs.

But Bren uses the passage to teach about who Satan is -- the great deceiver. We don't want to minimize or ignore Satan's impact on this world or Jesus' ability to overcome him, but we do when we allow sin in our life, when we choose not to repent.

So Bren asks: Where in your life have you been deceived; sin is in your life that you need to repent of?
