The Wellston Ohio Hill Country (OHillCo) Festival will be celebrating a special milestone this week as the festival turns 50 years old. This semi-centennial celebration falls along the lines of another special milestone in the City of Wellston. Wellston is celebrating its sesquicentennial (150 years) this year as the city was founded in 1873. Some special festivities will be happening at the festival to mark both occasions.

Later in the show… With the Jackson Apple Festival fast approaching, Victory Grange will once more be making apple butter at the Grange Hall of Pattonsville Road on Friday, Sept. 8, Saturday, Sept. 9 and Monday, Sept. 18.

Volunteers are needed for these days and for each day of the Apple Festival, which will run from Tuesday, Sept. 19 through Saturday, Sept. 23. If you are interested in helping or if you have questions, see any member of Victory Grange or call 740-286-3099.

Tune in this morning to learn about the Jackson County Farmers Club’s 62nd Farm-City Field Day! This year its being held at the Henderson’s Arena for another Farm-City Field Day for educational programing and the best roast beef! Programming will include Grain Bin and Rollover Rescue, Alfalfa Growth, Cover Crop Management, and horse related programing. This event will be held Thursday September, 14th from 3:00pm-7:00pm. It costs $10 a Meal and the event is located at Henderson's Arena 800 Van Fossan Rd, Jackson.
