Todays election day, so were taking a look at issue one and reminding you to get out and vote. On this morning’s program we will be discussing Issue 1. The special election will be held today with only one thing on the ballet… Issue 1. Issue 1 asks Ohio voters to consider an amendment to the state constitution. The amendment, if approved, would elevate the standards by which the Constitution of the State of Ohio may be amended to requiring at least 60 percent of the vote to be approved.

On the show today we will hear from local attorney Bill Martin and retired social studies teacher Dennis Reinhart who will be speaking in opposition of Issue 1. Later we will hear from Ohio House Representative Bob Peterson (Republican) from the 91st district which includes Jeffersonville, Washing Court House, Greenfield, & Hillsboro speaking in support of Issue 1.

This morning the Appalachia Old Car Club is on the show to talk about their Wheels of Steel Car Show on Saturday, August 5th! Wheels of Steel is in conjunction with the 30th annual Pig Iron Days and is being held in Manpower Park on Main Street, in Jackson. Later in the show Newsman Pete is on the show to tell us about some of our local news.

Connie Pelletier is on the show today to talk about My Brother’s Place. My Brother’s Place is a community ministry of the Wellston Ministerial Association and provides both food and clothing on an availability basis. It is located at 116 South Railroad Ave. in Wellston.

Connie has taken the leadership reins of My Brother’s Place since May 26th. Currently, My Brother’s Place is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

This morning Jen and James are taking a look back on when Elle King came to the studio! Later they will be talking about the Vinton County Fair, Jen’s vacation, and everything she missed while she was on vacation!
