The Jackson Firefighters Association has announced that the 29th Annual Pig Iron Day will be conducted Saturday, Aug. 6 at Jackson’s Manpower Park. Today we were hopping to chat with Jackson Fire Chief David Channell, who spearheads the project. We are also hopped to be joined by Andy from the Appalachia Old Car Club who will be back again to conduct its annual Wheels of Steel Car Show. Hopefully Dave & Andy can make it in tomorrow morning!

Today we are visiting with members of the American Legion! If you have  served at least one day of active military duty since December 7, 1941  and were honorably discharged or you are still serving active military  duty honorably, you are eligible for membership with the American  Legion.

HUGE Jackson Co. Fair show on Friday! Lots of interviews with kids about  their animals and highlights from some of our favorite events of the  week! We chat with everyone from Batman to a chicken named Pete who wasn’t very happy about getting flipped upside down. Friday at the fair  we have the livestock auction and Fast Traxx Moto Cross. Saturday night  we have the Brent Jenkins Memorial Demolition Derby!

Thursday on the show Jess Kellie Adams returns! She will be performing  Thursday night at the Jackson Co. Fair on the Bellisio Foods Grandstand.  After Jess at the fair is another rising star in Callista Clark!

Today we have have more live coverage of the Jackson County Fair from  Jeremiah Shaver PLUS we have the crew from the Jackson YMCA here today  to talk about their upcoming 3 on 3 basketball tournament. The Y will  have open registration for that tournament today from 3-7pm.

PLUS  Jeremiah Shaver will also be taking us around the fair grounds and  recapping all of the events from Monday. Events today include the lamb  show, goat show, rides, and Magic Man TJ Hill’s Comedy and Magic Show!

The Jackson County Fair Court is here in full force this morning! The  fair kicked off last night with the harness racing which continues  tonight at 6 PM! On Saturday is the livestock unloading, pretty baby  contest, 1st annual mullet contest, and the greased pig contest.
