Mainly Movies

We spend quite a long time discussing our latest limited release we hunted down, Parasite! Bong Joon-ho delivers one of the best films of the year and we highly recommend trying to tack it down. We switch over to Netflix’s The King at 59:53.

Sorry for another late upload! We’ve had some technical issues we needed to overcome, but we’re back to discuss 3 movies! We saw the Netflix hit Dolemite Is My Name, the indie black and white feature The Lighthouse, and a sequel no one necessarily asked for Zombieland: Double Tap!

We start with Dolemite Is My Name, transition to The Lighthouse at 18:03, and wrap up with Zombieland: Double Tap at 43:32.

We're still on the hunt for some movies to love, but for now we're stuck with The Laundromat and Gemini Man. We begin with discussing The Laundromat and then at 16:26 we move on to Aaron's take on the new technology that made Gemini Man possible.

At 29:50 DJ talks about his experience at the North Texas Film Festival and some of the movies he got to see early.

In an effort to give ourselves hope for the future movies coming out, we once again look ahead and each give 5 of our most "anticipated" movies for the end of 2019.

Sorry for the delay, but it’s finally time for us to discuss Joker! We know just about everyone already has an opinion article out there about this movie, but it’s definitely still worth discussion!

We venture outside of our comfort zones to watch a scary movie! It Chapter Two is the follow-up to the massive success of the first It released in 2017. Despite how all the attention is on It Chapter Two right now, we'd fully recommend trying to find a smaller movie called The Peanut Butter Falcon. It's a delightful adventure movie and we start discussing it at 47:03.

Despite all the new releases, there's nothing out right now we wanted to discuss, so we took a bit of a movie detour! We use the website Flickchart.com to discuss movies we hadn't thought about in years! Flickchart is a fantastic website that randomly generates 2 movies, and then you must decide which you prefer based on any criteria you like. It leads to really interesting discussions between classics, comedies, childhood favorites, and more!

We know we promised Star Wars, but there's been a slight change of plans. The Farewell is one of the absolute best movies to come out this year. We take some time to address how refreshing it is to get a movie like this towards the end of the summer. After the discussion on the Farewell, we look ahead to the rest of the year and talk about all the movies we're anticipating the most!

Skip to 33:08 to get to the end of year discussion.
