It offers individualized disability support services and communication coaching to individuals and families throughout Winnebago County and the Fox Cities area. • Top Craft Pick

It’s our “last call” for our Maino & The Mayor Top Craft Pick sponsors and we get to meet Ian Wenger from Fifth Ward Brewing in person. We get the chance to hear about how he and his partner Zach started brewing while they were going to UW Oshkosh. From brewing in their college house to purchasing a historic location on Main Street in Oshkosh to creating a brand and atmosphere for a community of craft beer consumers. It’s a great location and we’re so lucky they are part of our promotion. Beer = good. (At least that’s what Todd says.) Then financial advisor Josh Koon from Northwestern Mutual, shares insights on fiscal planning, including for families with special needs. As he blends empathy with expertise, Josh addresses the delicate balance of planning for retirement versus education, emphasizing the importance of starting financial conversations early.

  • Trucker Thursday From Oshkosh

It’s Trucker Thursday from our Oshkosh studios! Besides enjoying some great trucker tunes, the guys start the hour talking about sailing since our first guest is Steve Eliasen with International Youth Sailing of Oshkosh. This is a non-profit educational/recreational organization dedicated to enriching the lives of area youth and their families by creating water and winter sport opportunities that introduce them to the enjoyment and sense of well-being, as well as the STEM, environmental, and life lessons that these activities offer. It’s amazing to learn more about this program in our community.

  • The Press Times

In our weekly segment with the Green Bay Press Times, Tori Wittenbrock and John Craemer are in to discuss some of the stories they’re covering in this week’s issue. We love the Press Times because it covers local news and local sports and is locally written. Then Jim and John talk a bit about the possible hike in parking fees in Green Bay during the upcoming NFL Draft, and also a report that claims some local businesses around the event near Lambeau are expecting to lose money during the “shut down” of local traffic in the area.

  • Beds & Homes

Dan Vermeulen stops in to let us know about the work of Sleep In Heavenly Peace in Brown County. The group brings residents together to build beds for children under 17. Peace believes service is about much more than constructing beds for kids in need. Their mission is “No kid sleeps on the floor in our town.” There are chapters in Fond du Lac, Oshkosh, and Appleton, and Dan says SIHP could also use chapters on the lakeshore. Then, Deanna joins the guys for their segment “Moving With The Malcores“. Ben & Deanna have a group of new condos to check out, and of course, many other properties in Northeast Wisconsin, but with the weather getting nicer, the market is picking up speed and if you’re looking to sell in 2025, NOW is the time to reach out to Ben & Deanna. They’re also celebrating their new location with a Launch Party tomorrow afternoon.

  • Humpday, Baby!

Like many mornings, the show begins with a discussion of food. Jim was at a local supper club, and the guys discussed the magic of supper clubs. The drinks, the food, the salad bar, and the service are always top-notch! We also welcome Andy Brady, Verizon’s Market President, to discuss a new commitment in Northeast Wisconsin. Verizon announced a seven-year partnership with the Packers as their official 5G mobile partner, which is already enhancing the cell service in and around Lambeau as we lead up to the draft. The other big part of this announcement… Verizon will be wiping out $3 million in veteran debt throughout the state of Wisconsin.

  • Chefs and Undies

Our first guest is a local chef with a very interesting background. Thomas Swearingen is up for the Favorite Chef from Best of Home Magazine. Besides preparing food, his military background has allowed him to connect with people on another level. Thomas currently works with children in Northern Wisconsin and enjoys sharing his 20 years of military experiences. He says that sometimes it is not what you have cooked but who you cooked for. He’s served Presidents to Congressional Medal of Honor winners. You can help propel him in the contest by checking out THIS web page. Then Karissa Buck and Lisa Jones stopped by from the Community Clothes Closet in Menasha. They’re currently running a special drive to help secure underwear for residents in need. Underwear is something many of us take for granted – until we don’t have it. For the 11,200 individuals served by Community Clothes Closet, the comfort and confidence that come with a fresh pair of well-fitting underwear are often out of reach. When budgets are stretched, essentials like new undies take a back seat. Click HERE for details on The Great Undie Giveback!

A good friend who has been traveling a bit, Michael Friedman, joins the guys to give us an update on short-term rentals in Northeast Wisconsin for the upcoming draft. Michael says that while things have been slow to get going, he feels that we’ll see some excitement building over the next few weeks. True to form, the chatter rolls from rentals, to various food, Michael’s recent trip to Italy, and his appreciation for the Wu-Tang Clan. Whether you’re looking for a place to stay for the draft or you want to plan a great summer getaway, check out Simple Life Hospitalities online and see all of the great locations they have available.
