We’re nearly downhill to the weekend, and we’re all excited about it. The guys start the show celebrating the UWGB Women’s win yesterday as the team now moves on to the NCAA tournament! Jim and John also talk about VIP seating at the upcoming NFL Draft. Apparently, seats are going for about 3 grand. Is anyone going to purchase those? The guys wrap the hour talking about fans getting tossed from sporting events for heckling coaches, officials, and players.

Katie Holinka and Jim Murry are in with all the details on a new and simple way to find the best mask for each individual. Then Tyler Frye and Debbie Haumschild swing by the studio to chat about some of the upcoming fundraisers that are coming up to help the Casco volunteer fire department. Debbie has been a driving force for fundraising for the department and deserves a little extra recognition! Thanks, Debbie.

We dedicate this hour to helping others in the community. Cathy Speirs with Kickin’ It With The Cows. This 10K/5K Run/Walk is devoted to bringing communities together to give hope and support to children and families facing extreme medical challenges, specifically raising money for St. Jude Hospital for Children. The event is coming up later in the summer, but the organization is looking for sponsors and volunteers right now! Then Denise Charlier and Aaron Schuh with the Brown County Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of Wisconsin join Jim and John to fill us in on the Brown County Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind in Wisconsin. Denise and Aaron have very different stories on how they lost their sight, but they both agree that we need more understanding and services for blind people in our area.

Heidi Leiterman, Program Specialist with the Lifelong Learning Institute at UWGB, joins the guys to discuss some upcoming classes available to everyone. Specifically, they have a course on the history of the NFL Draft. Did you know that there was another draft in Wisconsin? It was held in Milwaukee for the 1940 draft. Then, we’re joined by Allison Hockers and Beckett K. to talk about the Pi Day 5K. The run/walk will take place in downtown Green Bay and is open to the public. In the past ten years, the PI Day 5K has donated over $185,000 dollars to local charities. This successful event is driven by a leadership team of 5th graders from our school. This year the money raised will help send local veterans on the Old Glory Honor Flight. It’s possible they will have 600 runners, which will be a new record for the run!
