As wars continue in Gaza and Ukraine, we try to understand how the dominant news corporations cover these conflicts. Robert W. McChesney joins Allen Ruff on A Public Affair to discuss the issue of heavy dependence on government sources. He also offers a historical look at media coverage of war, and answers listener questions about the the modern media coverage of war.

Robert W. McChesney  is the author of several books on media and politics, including Rich Media, Poor Democracy: Communication Politics in Dubious Times and Digital Disconnect: How Capitalism Is Turning the Internet Against Democracy. He is professor emeritus of communication at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign,
