What is up Champions School fans and Project Sandlot people—NFT folks. This is Sandlot Talk, my name is Ray McIntire and joining me is BZB, Austin Byler, and we are going to be breaking down NFTs on this little segment. It is a second podcast that we are going to be putting out weekly. It is going to be brief, breaking down our project and what is going on in the NFT community. Quick updates for you. By, how are you doing? I am killing it, Ray. I am ready for the PoBs to be released. I know man, we are getting so close. Quick updates from us, I would say we have 75-80 layers done for the PoBs. What that means is, of the hats, the shirts, the face tattoos—whatever right? Most of those are done, then we are going to have to get into the programming phase of it and make sure it all comes out. Quick question for you… You are a beginner in the NFT community, would you say? What has been the most challenging thing about NFTs kinda wrapping your head around this whole deal? The toughest part for me has been how does this work and why are people spending so much money on something they don’t physically have? I have it in my digital wallet now. The easiest way I have heard it put and you have put it this way is it is very similar to trading cards. I look at it as a digital collectable so just like Topps, I want to open the pack of baseball cards except I am getting a 1-of-1 that can’t be copied. It is a collectible that I can hang onto it if I like it, sell it if I don’t like it, use it for other things too like concerts, events, checking in for a plane flight even. There are so many uses for an NFT. That’s right! Each week we want to simplify one thing with NFTs for you guys. This week, we are gonna start with the basics of blockchain. What is a blockchain? That in itself is a little tough to wrap your head around. Let me try and put it simply. The idea with most websites is it is held on one server you go into that server to access the website. The blockchain itself is run by many different computers—no one individual computer—and people are paid to process transactions. The computers themselves are constantly spitting out a receipt like a timestamp constantly being put on the blockchain. For example, that “Follow your dreams” right over your shoulder. Imagine you were to sell that to me. The minute you sold it, someone’s computer says you did and it got transferred to me, now I own it. There is no way that can ever be taken down as it is already out there on the receipts, and it’s already on the chain. So it is a constant updated receipt or proof of ownership, really. Prime example, you want to go to the Giants game next week. So in the future, you might be able to buy a Giant’s ticket that is an NFT that is never going to be copied. There will never be anyone outside of the stadium waving around a ticket. Instead, it is proof that is shown on this chain of events. It is proof that you bought that at that time and it’s yours. What are your thoughts—blockchain—have you heard that breakdown before? I have never heard the breakdown of one website server versus many. I have heard of the decentralized government and also these little blocks. They are encoding that information just, here goes a block, and another block, and another block.

We had a great summer and just got a little breather in there through the end of August to reset and reengage. This fall we have some exciting things going on… our first ever Lake Tahoe Leadership Retreat which is going to be awesome. If you are in the area, come on over for that on October 8th. It is going to be a one-day event. We have another one set up for July set up here in Arizona. Then some camps! Camp season is starting this weekend. We will be up here near your hometown of Winters in Maxwell, California. Then we have plenty of the schools, the camps, and that doesn’t even touch on the NFT space that Ray has been crushing lately. I am so excited for that. NFTs we are so excited, just brought on Lauren Turton for an episode of Sandlot Talk so if you haven’t seen it get over there to check it out! We are going to try put out one of every week. A lot of good stuff on that end. The art is also really coming along. I think we are probably a week away from the art being fully done so that is huge. As a ‘90s baby Derek Jeter was one of the best of all time. Coach Milner with ACU felt the same way you did when he tweeted at us this morning.

We are going to run On It or Off It. Kep was just our second guest on this segment of the show and he did great. It is going to be a list of ten things where you will give us a, “I’m on it, I am for it” or, “off it, not my thing” plus a one sentence explanation as to why. Alright let’s go. Number one—the Dodgers winning the World Series this year? No shot. Why, what do you got? The Dodgers man, I’m a diehard Giants fan. Energy drinks? Natural energy right here, off it. Beyond that, Major League University is established in the mindset and leadership field for athletics. This will become an access token to all things MLU via discounts, freebies, and events.

What is up, we are back. You might know us as Major League University but we are coming to you as Project Sandlot but we will get to that in a minute. A lot of our audience is really unfamiliar with what we are going to get into today. Stay till the end and you are going to get some really good information in terms of what we are going to get into, what Project Sandlot is and what is an NFT which we are going to dive into shortly. But first, Ray Mac, how are you doing? I am great! I am just so excited and it is a whole new world! I think our heads have been spinning a little bit because we have too many ideas but we are narrowing it down and I am so excited about it. Well let’s get down to it, what are NFTs? It stands for Non-fungible token, and basically it is something that is represented on the block chain. So you are taking a token, or a digital representation of anything. It can represent art, tickets, videos. For us it will be simple .jpegs as well as providing access. So further beyond the art, which is great, it is almost like an all access pass to everything that we are about and the people that we are going to partner with. We will get more into that but it is basically a ticket that never expires. That is a great way to put it. How does it all work?

I know we are going to get into the good news today but there are some teams out here in Arizona that are playing so I am hopefully going to get over to see them and watch them compete a little bit. I just love to see the way this community has grown and is bringing people together. That’s right and it’s only going to get bigger, partly because of some things we have coming up. First of all, if you are no subscribed to the Newsletter, it is going to dirastically benefit you for some things we have coming up. College football is back baby! I love it. Part of waking up on a Saturday morning and getting to see college game day on TV it gets me so amped. Brings me back to days where Joe Mac and I were getting things rolling as kids. What’s your thought on college football? Same three teams every year, same three are gonna keep winning. Something about college football Saturdays man. I am not the biggest football fan but it is nice having games on TV on the weekends and midweek, it fires me up! Hawaii did not win the Little League World Series, like I had said. Michigan did end up winning but I am interested in your take on how the bracket played out. Come on man you gotta give the kids a game three for the ship! Slumps happen to everyone on this week’s zen but what do you do for that guys that are in a slump. What is a way to work themselves out of a slump or a way to flip the mindset? Take a step back. Generally the slumps happen because we keep thinking about all the bad things that have happened and could happen. Rather than thinkin about what could happen, let’s think about the opportunity in front of us about I get to hit.

I first met Coach Keplinger at the University of Nevada when I was just a freshman and he was, I believe, a junior. He was a leader back then taking me under his wing. It only makes sense that this is the profession that he found himself in. Teaching and helping players develop is in his blood. That is clear from the interview.

We talk about life in the city and how it has been a wild journey from Delta to USF. We talk about some of the techniques that Coach Giarratano has implemented to incorporate the mental game as well as the importance of connecting the breath. And of course we had a few laughs talking about bowling and robot umpires in On it or Off it.

We cant thank Kep enough for joining us. We wish him and the University of San Francisco Dons luck as they enter this Fall phase.

We are really proud of you and how far you have come man, we are really excited to see the direction that USF is going and how you guys do this year so thank you so much! I appreciate that and I can remember you running around as a freshman! The things you guys are doing man its awesome to see and a really cool thing!

How you doing By? I am doing good. My fiancé is currently working on a coffee cup. She is practicing on my cup. That is your first plug of the day brought to you by First Love Co. Personal world, we have a venue secured. We are excited about that. We got to have dinner yesterday with my brother and his kid. We have three new states that we are going to be going to . Texas, New Mexico, and Wyoming. We are excited. Really great meeting with the teams out here. I am excited to be working with guys out here in the valley. The people obviously make the trip. Good news for the program, I don’t know if we know, I got a 100 foot extension cord. Got a new Fire Stick, another great day for Amazon. Let’s get into the good news of the week. First good news of the week, birthday party guest jumps on alligator’s back as it bit it’s trainer and wouldn’t let it go. At one point the both sat there calmly and asked each other their names. Has to find his way out of there without the alligator biting his leg off. I have asked a lot of the athletes here personally if they would want in person or online. They all said for their mental health, being back in person has been so huge. I am sure for the parents those 6-8 hours are huge for the parents. It’s a huge stressor. Having to focus and make sure they are good 24/7. UC Davis even, they are going full on and putting their money on the table. Chris Bassit last night got hit in the head last night with a line drive. He did roll off the field conscious and we are just hoping he is OK. Zen of the Week, kinda wanted into visualization. How does someone get started in it? It is ultimate zen warrior status. Calm mind, relentless competitor. You see all things twice: first in your mind, then in reality. It tells your body what to do when you get out on the field.

I evaluated everything about conventional basketball that I thought was wrong and what bothered me. What’s new in your world By? We just got back from Irvine, CA where we spoke at the Best in the US showcase which was awesome. Got to equip some guys and meet some really great coaches. In other news we are getting close to wedding venue selection finalization. I have my fingers crossed for you. Decision-makers, it’s hard sometimes. Keeping the fingers crossed d for that. Tune in next week and maybe you will find out where BZB is getting married in 2022. Our plan was to have an In-n-Out truck and a Krispy Kreme donut. Maybe we can get a California In n Out truck. Dinner plates at the low end are like $75 a head. I want a full cheesecake man I want to get my moneys worth. One of the coolest events in professional sports. The field of dreams game played last night. Thoughts on the field of dreams game, do you think they should stay with it? Did you like it? The White Sox and the Yankees it felt like the playoff atmosphere. That is every childhood dream. Then to see one of my best friends, Aaron Bummer, got to come in and shutdown the seventh inning was so cool. Just great for baseball, I mean so much good stuff that it is doing for our game, the excitement and the joy is just a huge thing. I think they should keep it as an every year thing. He went to Sunrise Mountain High School, shout out. I do think they need to play more games there. I don’t know how that would work with the All-star game though. That is a huge money maker though. I love the event. I would love to see some sandlot game. What about some college baseball on that field? Iowa and Iowa State every single year. That would be unreal. No other good news I think that’s where we are at here. Yea we are gonna wrap that at the good news of the week. But we are gonna move into this week’s zen. Well I thought we were getting better until I absolutely botched the name of Dr. Williams’ business right out of the gate! Tori is a great friend of the show, and has come a long ways since her softball playing days in Chico, CA. She has recently taken the dive to start her own business. We dive into all the trials that comes with that and how starting a business can be a challenge internally. We also touch on the wholistic approach that health and wellness is going towards.

This was a fun episode for us just chopping it up with an old friend and I think that really shows!

Is there an applause button we can work into here? My chair that adjusts up and down but we don’t get to sit forward with you guys. We have had some mic malfunctions. I am hoping that we sound a little better with the new setup. Today we are going to be interviewing one of my favorite people. Go nuts, Mariani Nuts, we lost our championship by the way. Was that a salty loss by the way? You said you guys were trying to do things you don’t normally do. That was the Dave Mac quote of the year right there, C-League softball on Tuesday nights. We got into the second game with a team that we played last time. They lead off with a grand slam. I walked one hitter, made a couple errors then gave up that grand slam. Accountability and extreme ownership like Jocko Willink baby! Where are the birds going to go in the winter? One new thing, my grandpa goes into surgery. By the time you listen to this it will be about 5 days post surgery.
