For Heather Montgomery, one of her favorite things is to stand knee-deep in a stream and catch bugs with kids. She still does that, occasionally, when she's not writing, speaking to students or leading teacher workshops. Heather lives in beautiful Alabama with her husband, four cats and a forest full of wildlife. During her free time, she climbs trees, collects fossils, stands under waterfalls, nature journals, explore the Sipsey Wilderness or lays in a hammock and reads a good book!
