Making room for God begins in the heart. It means clearing out distractions, idols, and anything that takes precedence over Him. Revelation 3:20 reminds us of God’s desire to dwell with us: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.” God is always ready to enter in, but He will not force His way. You must open the door. That takes intention. That takes priority. You can’t expect to hear from God clearly if He’s constantly being drowned out by worldly noise. The blessings that come with a relationship with God are not found in a part-time connection. Psalm 91:1 says, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Dwells implies permanence—not a visit, but a lifestyle.
