The @mlb season is over and the @braves are the World Series Champions for 2021. Free Agency will start in a few days but a Collective Bargaining Agreement is needed as the current one has ended.

Here in Northern California, the San Francisco Giants won 107 games but lost in the NLDS in 5 grueling games.

But the biggest story so far in this short off-season is the retirement of longtime C and face of the franchise Buster Posey. The greatest player in the best decade in SF history since the team moved in 1958 from New York.

Congratulations to the @braves on winning the 2021 World Series Champions defeating the @astrosbaseball 4-2 by a 7-0 score in Game 6 in Atlanta Tuesday night.

What a class act of an entire team. The most humble superstar in Freddie Freeman. His 2020 year started so bad where he thought he was going to die from Covid to where he is as a champion today. Couldn’t be a nicer guy and after all those years in GA, he finally made the Series and eventually won. This team was under .500 at the All-Star Break and Ronald Acuna Jr. was injured and missed the rest of the year. Alex Anthopolous went out to acquire pieces instead of dumping players. 4 OF’s to replace the superstar production of an Acuna Jr in Eddie Rosario ( NLCS MVP ), Joc Pederson traded from the Cubs where he languished and had an incredible October, Adam Duvall from the Marlins for not a lot. Duvall led the NL in RBI’s for 2021. Jorge Soler came from Kansas City played the OF pretty well, hit key HR’s , missed a lot of the playoffs due to a positive Covid test, then hit one of the farthest ( or furthest) HR’s I’ve even seen. Above the train tracks in LF. They said 446 but that had to be longer.

The pitching wasn’t great but Max Fried was outstanding last night considering how his last two playoff starts went. Will Smith didn’t give up a run in 11 IP all postseason. The 1st champion since 1995 in any Atlanta sport when the Braves won then.

What a run by a team full of a group of likable guys. BTW, if I’m the @braves , I sign Freddie Freeman.
