Some common mistakes to avoid when pitching.

 

Make sure what your pitch is for. A sales pitch is very different from a pitch to an investor.

 

Be realistic. A pitch that’s too good to be true probably is, don’t make excessive claims or you may lose the chance.

 

Make sure you are pitching the right thing to the right person. Selling an experience in a different city from where your prospect lives is hard, offering something the prospect has no interest in is the same. 

 

Also, don’t sell sand in the middle of the desert. If you pitch marketing to a marketer you will only get a weird look, they can do the job themselves and if they can’t they wouldn’t be in business
