Make Your Goal An Amount Of Time

In order to get the dopamine hit that comes from completing a task or project that is huge or undefined, focus on finishing blocks of work time instead. 

Set your timer for 25 minutes and show up for your work period. When the timer goes off, set it for 5 minutes and get up and take a break. When the timer goes off, set it for another 5 minutes and do anything that feels fun. When the timer goes off, reset it for another 25-minute block of work time.
