Her adventures have included following the equator through eleven countries across three continents, venturing deep into the Amazon, and riding a cargo barge down the Congo River in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In 2022, Jacquelyn was awarded Most Intrepid Traveller by NomadMania—a title that perfectly captures her fearless, curious, and deeply intentional approach to seeing the world. Her stories aren’t just about where she’s been—but what it truly means to travel.

For the last 2+ years, Perlie and I have immersed ourselves in the digital nomad lifestyle and have been spending every month in a different country. Tbh we didn't know much about this country and it has now became one of our favorites for a plethora of reasons- food, landscapes, and cities just to name a few. In Season 4 Episode 11, I am joined by Julia from Poland. After leaving Poland at 19 to study architecture, Julia moved to London and spent five years earning her Master’s Degree. Her studies took her around the world—from projects in Russia to a self-organized internship in Sri Lanka—and she later worked in architecture across the UK, Greece, Sri Lanka, and Poland. But despite loving the creativity of the field, the corporate office environment wasn’t for her.

Everything changed when Julia began working in tourism during her university breaks. That path now gives her the freedom she always wanted: six months of work abroad followed by months of travel. And Julia always chooses the travel.

Most recently, she spent a month exploring Ethiopia—an experience that became one of her most impactful trips. In this episode, we dive into her Ethiopian adventure from a motorbike journey to visit remote tribes in the south, celebrating Ethiopian Orthodox Christmas in Lalibela (one of the country’s biggest and most spiritual events), witnessing the vibrant Timkat celebrations, and discovering the eastern side of the country.

In Season 4 Episode 10, I am joined by Diána from Hungary. Diána , also known as The Globetrotting Detective, is a full-time traveler and travel blogger. She travels to some of the world’s most misunderstood and often considered “dangerous” destinations including Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, and Syria. Diána creates detailed, practical travel guides to help travelers understand the reality of these countries, learn how to travel there, and navigate confidently. As a solo female traveler, Diána challenges stereotypes and proves that these countries are far more than their headlines. Through her journeys, she highlights their rich culture, welcoming people, diverse cuisine, and stunning landscapes, inviting others to see them with fresh eyes.

To share this passion with others, Diána now organizes tours to these destinations. Her first tour to Afghanistan is completely led and organized by women with local female tour guides and includes unique women-only experiences, giving travelers a rare chance to connect with Afghan women and experience the country through their eyes.

In today's episode, we dive into Diána's solo travels throughout Afghanistan. Over two months of solo travel across the country, Diána has set out to see the reality behind the headlines. She wanted to meet the people and reveal the human side of a country totally reduced to war, the Taliban, oppression, and the burqa. In Season 4 Episode 9, I am joined by Marcela hailing from Venezuela. Marcela has been exploring South America through a mix of volunteering, remote work, and meaningful cultural experiences. She first discovered her passion for travel while living in Peru for two years, but her greatest adventure began when she returned to Venezuela, got her passport, and set out to explore her own continent with purpose.

From working on farms in the mountains to supporting eco-lodges in the Amazon by translating for indigenous guides, and helping in busy hostels in exchange for accommodation, she’s embraced a resourceful and community-focused way of traveling. Through sharing her journey online, she inspires others to see that travel can be both affordable and impactful.

Now based in Medellín, Marcela continues to balance freelance work with discovering new destinations, creating content, and organizing group trips to help others experience the joy of exploring South America. Tune in today!

In Season 4 Episode 8, I am joined by Valentin- a 23-year-old medical student from Munich with a growing passion for exploring the world at a human pace. Though he’s only been studying medicine for a year, some of his greatest lessons have come from the road. Last year, Valentin traveled from Germany all the way to Timor-Leste, a journey spanning over 13,000 kilometers (8,077 miles) — and he did it entirely without taking a single flight.

His route took him through the heart of Central Asia and the Middle East, crossing borders that many travelers only ever read about. From Europe into Turkey, through the deserts and ancient cities of Iran, across the rugged landscapes of Pakistan, and into Afghanistan, Valentin continued moving east — guided by curiosity, trust, and the belief that the world is far more nuanced than the headlines suggest. Ferries, buses, trains, shared taxis, hitchhiking — every transition became a story in itself.

For Valentin, travel is not just about seeing places, but about seeing himself more clearly. The road became a mirror. The people who welcomed him, the uncertainty of not knowing what comes next, and the slow passage of time all shaped his understanding of who he is and how he wants to move through the world.
