In this month’s episode, we talk with the audio-visual art collaborators, Esteban Garcia Bravo and Aaron Zernack. Esteban is an associate professor at Purdue in the Computer Graphics Technology program and Aaron is the owner of the graphic design business, Mine-us. In this episode, we talk with Kristina Mok from Makers Making Change. The mission of the organization is to "achieve economic and social inclusiveness for all people with disabilities." The organization achieves this mission through community based Makers, Occupational Therapists and Volunteers to develop and deliver affordable open source assistive technologies. We discuss the Maker volunteer and client relationship and the assistive device open source library. We also discuss how Boilermakers can start their own chapter of Makers Making Change in Indiana.

In our first episode of "Making and Diversity: A Podcast and Video" series we talk with Purdue alumni Dr. Avneet Hira about her path into Making and the ways in which Making is unique from engineering design practices. Making is a physical recording of your creative process. Making is about exploring ideas and then proving they work. In the time of Covid, Making has shown its true potential as a process of self-discovery, a community with which to connect, even if physical spaces are temporarily not available, and a means to make the world a better place.
