Marissa Gutierrez-Vicario is an artist, curator, educator, and human rights activist whose passions drive her to bring about a force of change from within. She is the Executive Director of Art and Resistance Through Education (ARTE), an organization that educates young people around human rights change and an Adjunct Professor at the City College of New York in the Art Education Department. By educating and empowering young people to use art as a means of social justice and human rights activism, Marissa creates opportunities to connect them to challenge local and global issues. Melanie Closs is a theatre artist, musician and educator whose passions inspired her investment in girls’ empowerment. She is the Founder and Executive Director of The Other Side Intercultural Theatre Inc., a cross-cultural performing arts and technology program to connect girls from under-served communities. By educating girls through performance and storytelling, The Other Side inspires self-esteem, leadership, empathy and so much more.
