We welcome Dr. Brandy Ficek, graduate of St. Albert High School in Council Bluffs and keynote speaker for the upcoming Bishop’s Celebration of Catholic Schools on September 13.

Dr. Ficek is a Board-Certified physician in Family Medicine and Hospice & Palliative Medicine, with 17 years of medical experience. A graduate of the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, she was recognized as a Top Doctor by Phoenix Magazine in 2016. Now serving patients in Topeka, Kansas, Dr. Ficek brings both professional expertise and a deep Catholic faith to her work in health care.

Bishop Joensen talks with Dr. Ficek about her journey from Catholic school student to physician, how her faith shapes her approach to medicine, and why Catholic education remains close to her heart.
