She spent 5 years trying to get into medicine, during that time she had a variety of experiences, including work which helped her discover a passion for mental health and psychiatry. Isi has established her own YouTube channel to share her journey into medical school and help support students wanting to pursue the same goals. She is a very honest and open person, sharing lots of advice about how to deal with rejection and persist in achieving your dreams.

Which placement location is better, metro or rural? There is a lot of controversy about the different placement experiences available in medical school, which often leads students to feeling quite apprehensive about their allocations. So we had a chat with resident GAMSAT GURU Sarah about what her experiences have been like. Sarah has been lucky enough to experience both metro and rural medical placements and provides us with her PRO and CON list of both. She also speaks about how best to learn and embrace placement in medical school.

Chimmy is a 3rd-year Biomedical and Commerce student at Monash who began her journey with the intention of being a medical student.
