This week’s Off The Record included very interesting segments, which started with a 5-minute news report with Francesca Abarca and Mia Alvarado. This was followed by an exciting interview with Carey Courson, where she interviewed Gary Gore, a singer, songwriter, DJ, comedian, actor, and multi-media artist. In this episode, we had a quick update on all Campus Life with Ritchy Laguerre, followed by Ryan Ramirez, a.k.a DJ Romi, giving us the latest on NSU’s sports. Also, a 5-minute prerecorded podcast, POV, Professors Opinions and Views, with Maria Rodriguez and Professor Magas. In this episode, we had a quick PRSSA and COMMSWeek segment where we talked about exciting events happening this upcoming week. Of course, a mental health segment where we offered helpful resources for anyone who might need them, and towards the end of the program had a refreshing discussion on the latest pop culture news, touching on topics such as The Grammy’s, Liam Payne, Wicked, and many more!
This week’s Off The record included amazing segments which started off a quick 5- minute news report by Bryce Johnson also known as DJ Gentle, followed by an interesting, prerecorded news report with Will aka AKA DJ Rupee and congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz.In the episode included an interview with Carey Courson where she got to interview Brielle Aguayo and Ella Elkoni who will be in a theater production called Mayfly opening tomorrow October 26. Also in the episode included a mental health segment where we discussed the topic of self care and some tips. For sports lovers, we had the latest statistics on sports on NSU’s campus given by Anthony aka DJ Ant! The show spotlighted a shark cage student business by the name of Meliora Hair who was interviewed by Natalia Vega aka DJ Naty and Gabriela Alvarado aka DJ G. We also had a quick 2 minute update on all things Campus Life with Ritchy Laguerre. Of course, to end off the program, we had an invigorating discussion on the latest in the pop culture world, touching on topics such as Liam Payne, the new venom movie, the new Tyler the Creator album and much more!

Followed by that enticing interview, for our brand-new mental health segment, there was a prerecorded interview given by Ryan Romero aka DJ Romi to Professor Joey Weisler discussing topics of mental health in the classroom. As always, our sports update given by Anthony Greaves aka DJ Ant, a sharkcage business interview about student led business Jaws and Lime given by Gabriela Alvarado aka DJ G and Natalia Vega aka DJ Naty. Of course, the episode was rounded off my our pop culture segament featuring Marlee Card aka DJ Mojo, Zach Mueller aka DJ Neptune, and Mike Lynn, where we discusses trending topics such as Anna Delvey on Dancing with the Stars, the remembering of Maggie Smith and much more!

“That’s News to Us” is a news quiz show where guests compete in games built around current and wacky news. It is a collaboration between Mako Radio, housed in NSU’s Department of Communication, Media, and the Arts, and NSU’s Writing and Communication Center.
