Stephen Michels, of Dartmouth, N.S., is a long-time follower of Christ, has an extensive background with Malagash Bible Camp, and serves in a variety of ministries in the Christian community.

Stephen, a husband and father, works as a teacher at Halifax Christian Academy and as a chaplain in the Canadian Armed Forces. He often preaches on Sunday mornings at various HRM churches.

Stephen, at age 17, attended a winter teen retreat at Malagash Bible Camp, an experience he credits as setting a major course direction in his life. The following spring, in 1986, he was encouraged by his church leadership to apply for a summer staff position at MBC. He did, was accepted, and went on to serve as cabin leader for nearly a decade. He then moved into roles such as speaker, director, interim camp manager and executive board member. He continues to serve as a regular speaker, and on specialized committees.

Ryan McMullen, from Truro, NS is a husband and father and works as a high-school teacher. Ryan grew up going to Malagash Bible Camp as a camper, and credits the ministry of Malagash Bible Camp as a key driver in faith journey. He received God's gift of salvation at Malagash Bible Camp in the summer of 2006 and was on full-time staff in 2007 & 2008. He has served as a camp director and speaker as well. Andrew Leiper, from Halifax, NS, is a husband and father, and currently works as a Financial Planner. He attended Malagash Bible Camp annually as a camper from grade two through grade 12. He presently serves on the executive board of Malagash Bible camp, was a full-time volunteer in 2001, and worked as full-time staff in 2002 through 2005. He is perennial summer camp director and speaker since retiring from full-time staff. Listen intently as he shares why God isn’t fair and why that is a very good!

Madeleine Bush from Tatamagouche, NS, has attended Malagash Bible Camp since she was six years old. She worked on full-time staff in 2018 & 2019. She is currently in her third year of a bachelor of Biology at Mount Allison University. Annika Echkart, from Antigonish, NS, first attended Malagash Bible Camp in 2016 as a camper, and has recently served on full-time staff in the summer of 2019 & 2020. She is studying health at St Francis Xavier University with the hope of using a career in the health field to serve God on the mission field. Riley Fillmore, from Truro, NS was a perennial camper at Malagash Bible Camp since he was in grade 3. He started volunteering in grade 8, and after graduating high school, has been on full-time staff since 2018. He is currently studying at Crandall University and has hopes of being a youth pastor after he graduates. He is known by his peers as goofy yet wise. Katherine, from Rothesay, NB is currently working as a dental hygienist. She first attended Malagash Bible Camp when she was serving with Athletes in Action in 2017 and then was on full-time staff in 2018. Luke Sullivan, from Halifax, NS starting attending Malagash Bible Camp in 2014, and was on full-time staff 2019 and 2020. He is currently in his first year of a Bachelor of Science (Biology) from Crandall University. Derek Thorne, from Tantallon, NS has attended Malagash Bible Camp since 2012. He served five summers on full-time staff from 2015 - 2019. He has an undergraduate degree in Psychology and is currently in his third and final year of a Masters in Divinity from Acadia University. He aspires to be a youth pastor after graduating this year. Karis Schmuland from Beaverbank, NS is currently working two jobs to help save money towards her post-secondary education which will commence in September 2021.
