The Shattered Plains are a long way from anywhere safe. A few days ago, a highstorm tore the stone open and uncovered ruins from the age of the Silver Kingdoms. Now a small expedition is crossing the plateaus to see what’s left.

In this first part of Bridge Nine, we sit down with the Cosmere Roleplaying Game for the first time. Lando Shackles, a human agent with a talent for trouble, and Rush Thorntree, a human hunter who notices more than he says, join the march. Everyone has a reason to be here, and not all of those reasons are good ones.

We’ll say this much: it’s a short walk to the ruins. It’s a long way back.

After a short break, we return to The Auroran Empire as our three Drishya, plus their new prisoner/sidekick, Griff the Goblin, and mentor, Grukk, make their final approach to the lair of The Wyvern.

Having lost one member of their party to a troll, the Drishya must now plan on how they can take down the Wyvern, claim it's tail spike for Satya Mriga, and calm the chaos of the southern Ironspine Mountains.

The Drishya have laid a trap for the rogue Wyvern, hoping that it's enough to fell this beast once and for all. But this could be a fight too much for our newly initiated hunters. This Wyvern has destroyed farms, taken livestock and ruined lives.

But best laid plans never survive contact with the enemy, and this one is about to go very sideways. No one was prepared enough, and the consequences could be severe!

Crookback Farm is in ruins. Bodies are strewn about, rotting and exposed. The farmhouse is destroyed, and our Drishya have a moment to pause and think. Following the wolf attack, teamwork is being questioned and in order for them to be successful, our four initiates will need to band together.

All the while, the Wyvern roams free and unchecked. No one knows where it will strike next.

The hunt begins... and nothing goes to plan.

Our four fresh Drishya initiates set out from Deepholm on their first official calming, guided (loosely…) by the ever‑stoic Grukk. But before they even reach Crookback Farm, the mountains test them: strange howls in the mist, panic in the ranks, and a brutal wolf ambush that exposes cracks in the party’s teamwork.

As tensions rise, the group uncovers chilling evidence of the wyvern’s rampage; torn earth, shattered rooftops, and a family devastated beyond recognition. With fear creeping in the initiates must decide whether they’re hunters… or the hunted.
