  • Discipling Toddlers

Do you ever wonder when and how and even if you should discipline your toddler. Do they even understand what they did? Are they ready or do they have to ability to have self-control or to obey?  When should you start spanking them, and for what? When do you put them in time out, how long, and for what reasons?  What do you do if they are throwing tantrums or hitting?  Of course some of this depends on the toddler and the situation, but in this episode I go into detail and answer all of these questions the best I can. So, pop those earbuds in and let's tackle some laundry while we learn and grow together!
Also if you haven't listened to my "Spanking let's talk about it" episode I highly recommend you do after you listen to this one. Podcast | Mama's Village

  • Random tips from a Mom of 3

Okay Mamas you don't want to miss this episode!  We cover a variety of topics that I think are so important, but you can't do a whole episode on.  When I say random, I mean it's random!  I talk about a newborns schedule, to mom judging, to keeping the house in order and having too many toys. These are random tips I would tell any mom that is asking for advice on these topics or things I would put in the jar at the baby shower asking for your best piece of advice for a new mom.  Now I do not claim to have it all together or that I have done all of these things perfectly, but these are things I do consistently that I believe help a lot!

Being a mom pushes you in all areas, physically, and emotionally, so sometimes we lose all our strength and cannot keep going. It's easy to lose perspective when you have to solve 187 problems every day.  We deep dive into some scriptures that teach on this very thing and learn how we can handle those times when motherhood seems so hard and learn how to find joy and peace even in the hardest times!  So lets dive in!

  • Finding Peace and Joy in the Business of the Holidays!

Do you ever find yourself so busy during the Christmas season that you don't even enjoy it?  Peace and joy that Jesus came to give us is out the window because we are just floundering over here trying to make sure we don't forget to buy that teacher a gift or bake those cookies for the party or send out those Christmas cards in time.  In this episode I talk all about how to take the pressure that society tries to put on us during Christmas and hold tight to all God has for us during this season. Simplicity can be a beautiful thing and sometimes saying no for a greater yes and taking the season back into our hands is really all we need to do to find that peace and joy.  So, let's dive in!

  • Giving your children the Gift of Responsibility

Research tells us that children that do chores have more confidence.  This is a significant finding and one that is worth exploring and talking about.  In a world where depression, anxiety and the suicide rate is ever climbing it is so important to instill a sense of value and self-worth in our children at a very young age.  We want to help them understand that God gave them specific gifts that should be used to better the family unit and one the world they live in.  That the gift he gave them is unique to them and they play a vital role in our family unit. One way we can easily do this is by giving them chores and having them do the things they can do safely on their own. It is so tempting to just do it for them when it will take an extra 20 minutes for them to do it, but when we are always doing it for them, we create children that first think that everything should be done for them and second don't have a sense of responsibility.  In this podcast I talk about practical ways to give them responsibility, confidence and a sense of self-worth.  So, let's dive into this week's episode!

  • Children are a Blessing! Creating an Atmosphere of Love and Acceptance in your Home!

Our Bible tells us that Children are a Blessing! Psalm 127:3-4 is clear that our children should be a blessing and even a reward, but do you ever feel like that's not what it feels like sometimes. Our culture teaches us that children are an inconvenience, that they are too much responsibility and forget getting any sleep or feeling like a person again once you have children. In this episode I talk about how to change our perspective on our children, and in turn creating a loving environment where our children feel accepted and embraced instead of like a nuisance. We go into detail on how we can have fun and embrace this stage of motherhood with joy! Not by being a martyr to motherhood, but by embracing the biggest calling in our lives and having our days full of fun and joy because of that!  So, let's dive in!

  • Be set free from the Guilt of Discipline

Do you ever feel guilty when you have to discipline your child?  Maybe because you feel like you may damage their emotions in some way or maybe you were unfairly or abusively punished when you were younger, and you never want your child to feel like you felt. Or maybe you feel like your child has been through something traumatic or life changing, and you know that's why they are misbehaving so you feel like disciplining that wouldn't be fair for them.  The goal of this episode is to give you Biblical principles that will free you from that feeling of guilt when you have to discipline your child no matter what the circumstance. I also address when the right time to start discipling is and how to know when they understand the concept of consequences.  So, pop in those earbuds and start in on that pile of laundry or sink full of dishes and let's grow together!

  • Gentle Parenting with Kimberly Edwards

Have you ever wondered about Gentle Parenting and if it's a Biblical way to parent?  Or maybe you follow Gentle Parenting or implement some of it, but maybe have a small check in your spirit about it.  In this episode we talk to Kimberly Edwards, a mother of five and author of "A Gentle Deception". She goes deep into Gentle Parenting and its origins and holds it up to the light of God's Word.  Mama's, you don't want to miss this episode.  We talk in detail about different parenting methods and how they have evolved throughout history into what is now Gentle Parenting and what made Gentle parenting such a huge trend. Also, we discuss how it could possibly be preparing this generation for the end times and the 2nd coming of Christ.  This was such a huge honor to have Kimberly on our show.  She is such an academic and thoroughly studies the Word through and through to fully understand not only a verse in the Bible, but the original text and what it means. We even touch on spanking and how twisted those scriptures have become throughout history and now with "Christain Gentle Parenting".  Thank you, Kimberly, for joining us and we hope to have you on again in the future!
