Managing bankroll in poker is similar to managing cash flow in a business. You need to be able to manage the downswings in order to reap the rewards.

For a $2/$5 No-Limit cash game, the maximum buy-ins are typically between $500 to $1,000. Being down 4-10 buy-ins is very typical, even if you're playing your best poker. This is why I need to set aside $10,000 to $20,000 for my poker bankroll.
