MANANA//CUBA Mixes

MogaDisco take us on a journey through Highlife, Afrobeat, Funk and Disco, while throwing in some hidden highlights from 2015.

MANANA 2016 REVISITED: Guy Morley's seasonal playlist combines three of his favourite Christmas songs from Ghana/ Nigeria, Kenya and Barbados and folds them into a musical journey spanning Africa, Cuba and the Bahamas. Look out for a fresh track from his work with Grace Jones, some Yoruba Fuji music that is closely linked to Cuban tradition, incredible percussion from Congo, a fantastic Cuban track and a classic Joseph Spence song that will spread a smile across your face... Merry christmas to you all!

MANANA 2016 REVISITED: This mix was a collection of tracks Underground UK duo, Phrased, had been enjoying recently. A little excursion from their studio sessions, and a soundtrack to their downtime.

MANANA 2016 REVISITED: Seminal @warp-records electronica act @plaid took us on a journey back through their musical roots... In their own words; "some music that we listened to growing up, when we were breakdancing and starting to produce our first tracks"

@jeremysole is on a mission to show how music is a singular universal language, and that each culture’s rhythms and melodies are no more than slang/different accents of the same mother tongue. In this third episode of the MANANA podcast he takes us on an epic journey that begins on the streets of Santiago...

He'll be playing at MANANA - Cuba's 1st Afro-Cuban and Electronic Music Festival on 4/5/6 May 2016
