I get to speak with Andrew Scrivani about another passion of his, Competitive Olympic Weightlifting. A very interesting talk about how he got into this, how this style of weightlifting effects him day to day, consistency and diet.

When working with photos, video or both, you MUST have a good workflow! Workflow can make or break you when it comes to being in the zone when creating from start to finish. You don’t necessarily have to buy the most expensive gear but, it makes a difference depending on how much strain you are putting on your computer and how fast the hard drives are able to work.

Breaking, also called breakdancing or b-boying/b-girling, is an athletic style of street dance. It originated in the ‘70’s, grew in the 80’s and then fell off. Where it went? No-one really knows. All I know is that it’s an intense style of dancing and it’s back! If you don’t know, and/or never seen it, been a part of it or around it, you should find the next event and go. PERIOD. You’ll thank me later. It is impressive what these guys do, how much they practice, the dedication and commitment that is put into it and it’s a lifestyle! I had the pleasure of speaking with BBoy Gravity, he lives and breathes the culture and is a super successful businessman who is making BIG moves.

Health and fitness is a lifestyle.  Getting in shape and staying in shape takes consistency, dedication and holding yourself accountable on a day to day basis.  Make excuses to get the exercise in, not avoid it.  Once you get into a consistent schedule,  you find yourself not wanting to miss gym days.

Do your research, get a fitness coach If you need one in order to get started and/or to stay motivated and don’t forget that a big percentage of your results will come from the kitchen.  Food consumption plays a big part.

You have Food and then you have photography. You can take a photo of your food and it can make the food look worse than what you actually have on the plate. Then you have someone who can prepare the food, plate the food, position lighting whether it’s natural or studio, and produce a photo that would make you want to devour said photo.

There is an art to food photography and I get to discuss it with someone that has a wealth of knowledge on the subject and is one of, if not THE best food photographers in the business, Andrew Scrivani.

Getting into the field of photography and cinematography isn’t always easy. It’s expensive or can be if you choose to make it that way. Starting out, you really need what you can afford, go out and take as much footage and/or photos and work on learning the basics and rules. After that you can really zero in on what you want to pursue and eventually turn into a job. We can’t go to the gym now, so we have to make the best of it. That means working out at home. Finding motivation to keep pushing so that you don’t lose whatever gains you were working toward.
