Mandarin is a unique citrus essential oil in that it gifts us three varieties from the same fruit. We receive Green Mandarin from the unripe fruit, trimmed early from the tree to make room for the other fruit to grow freely. If the semi-ripe fruit is cold-pressed, it offers Yellow Mandarin oil and from the fully ripened fruit, we receive Red Mandarin. This episode explores the similarities and differences between the three oils, as well as what sets them apart from the rest of the citrus family.
