Stephen Dalziel, author and broadcaster, is among the UK's premier Russia specialists. He spent nearly two decades as the BBC's Soviet and then Russian affairs analyst, interviewing leading figures including  Mikhail Gorbachev, Boris Yeltsin and Eduard Shevardnadze. Fluent in Russian and a frequent visitor, he is a past executive director of the Russo-British Chamber of Commerce and currently advises businesses on Russia and consults on media training.
