In this weeks episode we break down a meet preview of the next sanctioned meet for the Manitoba Powerlifting Association - The One Powerlifting Classic happening on March 22nd at Glenlawn Collegiate! This event has traditionally had a majority amount of first time lifters and keeps to that tradition as well as having returning lifters look to hit qualifying totals as this meet will be the last chance qualifier for the Provincial Championships slated for May 3-4!

In Episode 13 we talk about Dino's 2 performances at Nationals before diving into the last 2 days of Nationals including equipped bench only.

Welcome back to our Canadian Powerlifting Nationals recap! On Day 4 MPA had 7 athletes take to the platform. This day was filled with personal bests, lifter battles, national records, podium finishes and best lifter awards! A massive congratulations to all of our lifters on day 4!

Welcome back to our recap of the Canadian Powerlifting Nationals Day 3! In an eventful day we had the 3-lift Equipped women's session first with our M-4 Susan Haywood, M-2 Janet Sitar, and Open Baylie Gigolyk all competing in the 76kg class. In the second and third session we had our Junior 93kg LeDainian Tyrell and Junior 69kg Christina Sudoma. A very action packed day that saw 2-golds, 1-silver, and multiple national records and personal bests lifted by MPA!

Welcome back to another CPU Nationals Recap! Day 2 of nationals had 3 MPA athletes competing in the sub-junior female, junior-male, and M3-equipped male sessions. Jessie Rivard started the day off with a 9-for-9 showing: posting a 2.5kg PR in squat and 5kg PR in the deadlift for a 4th finish of a very competitive 84kg sub-junior class. Franz Ma-ao had a character building performance that had challenges leading up to fully show what he was capable of, but is prepping for a big regional meet in the fall. David Hrynkow had another good day going 8-for-9 taking 1st place in his class and is looking to be building momentum to finish off this years Nationals with some big numbers!

Welcome back! This week we will be having a daily summary of the CPU Nationals that are being hosted in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. In this episode, we go through our Manitoba athletes that competed in the Bench Press only session on Sunday. 7 athletes took to the platform of which collectively posted up: 4-1st Place finishes, 3-2nd Place finishes, 2-best overall lifters, and a 2nd best overall lifter. A great day for Manitoba athlete's which had it all from attempt adjustments, 3-for-3 meets, and the highest GL point registered in MPA history!

Episode 7 - In this week's episode D & T summarize the most recent sanctioned Manitoba Powerlifting Association competition the 10th Annual Brickhouse Power Challenge. This event took place on February 1st and had 35 lifters take to the platform. We summarize some great performances including a new provincial record bench press of 480lbs!

Episode 6 - In this week's episode D & T review a listener recommended podcast topic of the current all-time MPA Top 50 list. We discuss the lifters in both the classic and equipped categories which see up-and-comers, hall-of-famers, and current legends of Manitoba Powerlifting History.

Episode 5 - In this week's episode D & T break down the most recent powerlifting meet: Total Fortification, which occurred on December 14, 2024. This event saw 55 athletes take to the platform, 3 of which broke the 100 GL point barrier for the first time in Manitoba Powerlifting history!
