In today's sermon Pastor Brett will help us explore Ephesians 1:11-14. Paul makes it clear that everything God does is for His own glory. What does that look like for our daily lives and how we see God at work even in the mundane?
Discussion Questions:
1. Read Ephesians 1:11-14 together as a group. What aspects of this passage, or the sermon, stuck out to you most?
2. In the sermon, we talked about the theme found throughout the Bible of how God works and acts for the sake of His name or His praise. What was your reaction to this principle? How does the belief that “God is for His praise” work together with the belief that “God is for His people”?
3. Think about your own story of how you came to faith in Jesus. Even in all the details, God was working so that you would receive this inheritance. Notice that Paul writes in the past tense that we’ve already received this inheritance. What is this inheritance he talks about and how does it impact our lives today as believers?
4. God works all things together for His glory and His people’s good. Share a story of a challenging season in your past. How can you see now, through the situation, how God was at work for both His glory and your good? We don’t always see the reasons why God brings challenges and hardships but let this be a time of encouragement for those in that season now.
5. Spend some time in prayer for one another. Discuss what it actually means to live for God’s glory practically and pray for each other that we would live this way. Pray for those in a season of challenge now. Pray for one another to be marked with biblical truth to prepare for seasons of challenge as well.
