God talks about His love and faithfulness for Israel and to His covenant with them even after their unfaithfulness.  Christ brings in a new covenant, a better covenant and His law will be written on their hearts brought in by His sacrifice and grace.

God gives a word through Ezekiel, the idolatrous elders are condemned and He is going to destroy both ends of Jerusalem like a worthless vine that's good for nothing, yet when all the desolation a remnant will be left. Jesus is the great high priest who offered up himself as the perfect sacrifice once for all time putting aside the former priesthood and sacrificial system under a new covenant.

False prophets deny Jerusalem's devastations saying it isn't until a far off day, so God speaks woes upon them for following their own spirits and they have seen nothing.  His hand is against them.  The dangers of falling away from faith are counted, instead we are to realize the full assurance of hope until the end to inherit the promises.

Jeremiah, still in Babylon, is given a vision taking place in the midst of the slaughter in Jerusalem and of the departing of the Spirit of God from the threshold of the temple along with the wheels and the cherubim.  Continuing the word to the Hebrews, Jesus is the perfect high priest above the order of Aaron and Melchizedek, being the perfect blood sacrifice poured out for all time because of of His piety and complete obedience to the Father.

An end is coming, an end has come, says The Lord to Ezekiel, who sees a man as bright as molten metal and in the spirit is brought in through a vision by God to Jerusalem and is shown abomination upon abomination taking place in the temple of The Lord in real time.  The writer of Hebrews tells us that God sees all, to diligently strive toward our rest in God, the finished work on the cross of Jesus into eternal salvation, eternal rest.

Ezekiel speaks God's prophecy of the desolation to come as he's in Babylon, just as Jeremiah was speaking God's prophecy from Jerusalem and Egypt of the same desolations to come upon Jerusalem as a result of their idolatry and glorification of the flesh.  This letter is written to the Hebrews as a warning to continue to press on into your faith and belief in Jesus.  We must abide in Him.  Today is the day of our salvation.

Ezekiel the priest during Israels exile, living inBabylon, has a vision of God's divine glory in wheels with four living beings that are Holy Spirit driven.  God appoints him as a mouthpiece to his rebellious people and holds him accountable for their blood if he doesn't speak God's warnings.   God's final word in His Son, pay close attention, Jesus is the High priest of God, able to offer Himself up for our sins.

Jeremiah laments over the complete destruction of Israel and the horrors the people have succumbed to during the siege.  Peter encourages serving God eagerly, being faithful and not to give up as the devil prowls like a hungry lion seeking whom he may devour.

God's anger pours out over Israel and didn't spare anyone of complete devastation after the years of  Jeremiah's prophetic warnings are rejected.  Peter is saying the end of all things is near and we should be living unto Him in love and faithfulness, entrusting our souls to Him in doing what is right as we continue on in our walk.

The destruction of Jerusalem begins with Nebuchadnezzar stripping the temple and destroying it along with carrying away the people of Judah to Babylon.  Jeremiah grieves as he is witnessing the destruction and Jerusalem and is powerlessness to do anything more about it.   Peter writes instructing to represent the godly life, in all ways be a living reflection of the new redeemed man in Christ.
