Everything we do centers around encountering Jesus in three ways. We desire for people to experience Jesus individually, through the community, and through sharing our faith and if you consider this to be your home church then we're looking at asking you to consider membership in the church.

Against the pushback - We live in a society that doesn't make it easy to share what we believe and that puts a lot of pressure on us as Christians to 'just keep your faith to yourself.' Today we want to see how the early church responded to this kind of pressure and how they became even bolder in spite of it.

When you don't have what people are asking for -

I know there have been many times where I have felt, useless because I dont have what people are asking for. Have you ever been placed in the spot?

Sure you have. Sometimes we are placed into situations where we dont have what people need. A friend is in a difficult situation and we dont know what to say. Someone is depressed and we dont feel qualified help. Our children are not accepted at school / youth / church and we know we cant that we force people to be their friends. These situations make us feel. Useless. That unless can hold us back from being used of God.

How do we help people, when we dont have what they need?

As the old saying goes, you can pick your friends but you cant pick your family. Sometimes we love our family and sometimes we wonder why God put us into the family that He did. Yet regardless of what your family was like, it had a profound influence on who you are. When you come to faith in Jesus, you become part of another family the family of God. It also has a profound influence on who you become. And, like all families, the family of God has certain values that they hold in common, so that we can live and thrive as a family. Today we want to examine what those values are and what it means to live together as brothers and sisters in Christ.

We live in the era of the Holy Spirit. His activity, both in our lives and in our world reveals the presence of God. The Holy Spirit is the 3rd person of the Trinity, and therefore he is fully God. His activity is found in both the Old and New Testament. What is more, Jesus promised that God the Father would give the Holy Spirit to all who asked. One of the hardest things to do is wait. Patience is something so foreign to our culture and nature. Im sure the last thing the disciples wanted to do was to wait for what the Father had promised (1:4).

Yet, Jesus commanded them to wait on the gift of the Spirit, which was to empower them to do the things Jesus commanded. Jesus had such an epic plan for the disciples, yet they were called to wait! WHAT? Today we are going to look at what to do when are waiting for God to move in our lives

We know very well that the world we live in today is far, far different from the world of the First Century. But the mission Jesus gave us is the same no matter what century we live in and no matter what social, political and economic realities we are dealing with. As we move through the stories of Acts, we will see how the early Christians stayed true to their mission in the face of social change, persecution and internal dissension. These are lessons that we do well to pay attention to as we desire to be a church true to Gods will for us.
