WHAT A WAY TO END SEASON 4! 🔥😂

For our If Not Book Club finale, we brought back FIVE of our guests for one final conversation—and somehow, without planning it, the married folks ended up on one side and the singles on the other. You already KNOW where this went. 😂

We reflected on the book, the season, relationships, marriage, money, provision, standards, compromise, biblical interpretation, and what it actually means to wait without wavering.

Then somehow…EVERYBODY TURNED ON JAZZ! 😂

Our guests challenged her strictness, questioned whether some standards could use a little flexibility, and openly shared where they disagreed. Jazz listened…and then stood TEN TOES DOWN. Dad even admitted that one of the things he loves about his daughter is that she's headstrong and stands firmly on what she believes.

Because Waiting Without Wavering was never about everybody agreeing with you.

It's about knowing what YOU believe, remaining teachable, understanding the difference between compromise and abandoning conviction, and refusing to build your life according to someone else's standards.

After 22 episodes, that's where we leave If Not:

Your life is yours to live. Learn from people. Take the wisdom. Spit out what doesn't apply. Seek God. Grow. And walk boldly in who He created YOU to be.

S4E21: If It Happens, I'm Ready... If Not, I'm Whole

The book signing happened—and it was AMAZING! So before diving into Chapter 21, Mom and I take some time to reflect on the experience, the love, the support, and everything God has done through If Not.

Then we get into the heart of this chapter: CONTENTMENT.

What does it mean to genuinely appreciate where you are while still desiring more? We discuss the difference between contentment and complacency, jealousy, comparison, stewardship, and learning to actually LIVE in the season you're constantly praying to get out of.

Being content doesn't mean you stop dreaming, growing, praying, or preparing. It means your happiness isn't being held hostage by what hasn't happened yet.

Because if you can't appreciate what God has already placed in your hands, what makes you think having MORE will finally make you grateful?

If it happens, I'm ready. If not, I'm still whole.

No guests this week—the weather said NOT TODAY! 😂 So it's just Jazz and Rita for Chapter 20 of the If Not Book Club, and we're answering a question that naturally follows everything we've discussed this season:

If you're already whole…why do you still want marriage?

We talk about independence, having your business together BEFORE entering a relationship, knowing what you want in a spouse, and preparing yourself for the next chapter instead of expecting another person to come fix your life.

Both of us were raised to be independent, capable women who could take care of ourselves—and Jazz is VERY aware that she's about to turn 32 and has officially passed all the ages Rita was when she got married, had Jazz, had her brother… 😂

HELLO, GOD! YA GIRL IS ABOUT TO BE 32!

But here's the lesson: wholeness doesn't eliminate desire. You can be fulfilled, independent, purposeful, and complete in Christ while still desiring companionship and marriage.

This week, the couple that helped shape the woman behind If Not takes center stage—Elder James Styles III and Rita Styles! ❤️

As we unpack Chapter 19, The Threefold Union, Mom and Dad get real about marriage, becoming one, navigating disagreements, and what it actually means to build a relationship with God at the center. There was Scripture, wisdom, laughter, honesty…and somehow we ended up in a little family counseling session too. 😂

Two statements carried this entire conversation:

“Without God, the relationship won't work.”

And:

“If you put God first, there is no problem you can't handle and God can't fix.”

Marriage isn't simply two people choosing each other. It's two people choosing God, then continually learning how to choose one another through Him.

ou can desire marriage without believing you're incomplete without it.

In Episode 18 of the If Not Book Club, we unpack Chapter 18 of If Not: Making Peace With God's Timing and challenge the mindset that singleness means something—or someone—is missing from your life.

Marriage can be a desire without becoming your identity. A spouse can add to your life without becoming the source of your worth. And waiting for marriage does not mean you're sitting around as half a person hoping someone eventually arrives to make you whole.

We talk about finding wholeness in Christ, appreciating the life God has already given you, and recognizing that your purpose does not begin at the altar.

I desire marriage. I am preparing for marriage. But I was never lacking without it.

That's the difference between wanting something and needing it to validate who you are.

Ladies' week did NOT disappoint! 😂💜

For Episode 17 of the If Not Book Club, we welcomed Mrs. Darlene, wife of last week's guest, Peter, and she could not have been more perfect for this chapter.

As we unpack What I Actually Want in a Husband, we move beyond the childhood lists, fantasies, and superficial expectations to discuss what actually matters when choosing someone to build a life with. Darlene shares how her own desires evolved, what God ultimately gave her in her husband, and why seeking God first changed what she understood marriage to be.

From two preacher's kids raised on opposite sides of the world discovering just how much they have in common, to laughing until we snorted, this conversation was beautifully honest, emotional, biblical, and relatable.

We discuss waiting, singleness, independence, intentional growth, God's timing, and one of our favorite principles from the chapter: "I want a man who is actively working on himself, as I am actively working on myself."

Because marriage isn't about finding a finished person. It's about two whole people committed to continuing to grow—individually, together, and most importantly, in Christ.
