Ananias had plenty of reason to avoid Saul, but when God called him to go, he went. His faithful response to God’s call changed Saul’s life and the world. Our faithful response can do the same.

Stephen like others was arrested for sharing the message about Jesus. When brought before the religious leaders, he again spoke of Jesus. They ended Stephen’s life. The persecution aimed at stopping Christianity began it’s widespread growth. What God begins, no one can end.

Part four of our Acts sermon series.

Peter’s message isn’t met with the same enthusiasm as before. The religious leaders arrest him, but ultimately release him. They threaten him to stop talking about Jesus. He refused.

The Holy Spirit provided an opportunity for Peter to talk about Jesus and he made the most of it. The Holy Spirit does the same for us in many different ways. Watch for opportunities to talk about Jesus. When you see one, make the most of it.

Paul is out to destroy this movement of people claiming that Jesus is the Messiah and that God raised him from the dead. He treated them as the enemy, arresting then sending them back to Jerusalem in chains. But when Jesus appears to Paul, he comes face-to-face with grace. Life changes when we see the grace of Jesus.

Thomas believed in Jesus, but he wouldn’t believe he had risen from the dead, not until he could see it with his own eyes. Scripture allows us to see the resurrected Jesus through his eyes. What do you see? Do you believe? Will you follow?
